He participated in Shay’s Rebellion of 1787 and is on the 1790 Census of Amherst. ®8 On 4 June 1793 he was a member of a committee to purchase books for the Amherst Agricultural Library. ®778 He resided in Amherst, Massachusetts at the time of his marriage in 1809. ®656 On the 1810 US census his household in Amherst, Massachusetts consisted of he and his wife, both 16 to 26 years old and one boy under 10 years of age. ®1722In 1817-1818 he sold one acre of land for $80 for a new burying-ground in the south part of Amherst. In 1824 he was a member of the committee to build a meeting house in the southern part of Amherst, of which he became a Deacon. ®778He died at age 53 of consumption. ®687
