“He was in the U. S. service, First Heavy Artillery, CO. B. Enlisted Aug. 8, 1862, from Methuen, and discharged Jan. 27, 1864; re-enlisted Jan. 28, 1864, and engaged in nineteen battles. They had nine children, and seven are now living, Rev. George R. Moody being the sixth.”781
