He moved at an early age to Hutchinson, Minn. He and Edna E. Bell of Cedar Mills, Minn. were married on June 20, 1905. The couple came to Bayfield soon after, to settle on the Murray place west of the city. Twice they bought farms to get closer to the city. Mills built three houses in which the family lived successfully. Edna Mills died in 1947. Mills then sold the farm and lived with one or another of his children, mostly in the northwest.
