On 5 June 1917 Isaac Belonger (sic) was a 25 year old married Indian farmer who lived at Rural Free Delivery 1, Bayfield, Wisconsin. He was tall and slender with black hair and black eyes.
®3103 On 1 January 1920 he was a 25 year old laborer in a lumber yard and lived with his wife Rose, 24, and children Donald J., 2 years and 6 months and newborn Dorris (sic) G. in the house of his widowed sister-in-law, Delia Belanger, on Fourth Street in Bayfield, Wisconsin.
®3085 On 1 April 1930 Isaac Belonge [sic], 38, lived in a house he owned on 4th Street in Bayfield that was worth $600. He lived with his wife of 14 years, Rose, 34, and children Donald, 12, Doris, 10, Frances 8 and Kenneth 3 years and 10 months. Isaac was a laborer on a truck farm.
®3086 “He worked as a teamster in logging camps and lumber mills in the area, and at the Hauser Nursery, and for many years at the Lake Superior District Power Company in the maintenance department. He retired from that employment at the age of 66. Mr. Belanger was a member of the Holy Name Society. He is survived by his widow Rose; two sons, Donald, Washington, D. C.; and Kenneth, Milpitas, Calif; two daughters, Mrs. Doris Nelson, Washburn; Mrs. Ervin (Frances) Davidson, Baudette, Minnesota; 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Also survivors are a brother, Michael, Antigo; and two sisters, Mrs. Alex (Ann) Aiken, Washburn and Mrs. Charlotte King, Ashland. Funeral services were held Friday at the Holy Family Church, with the Rev. Fr. John Spanjers as celebrant. Burial was in Calvary cemetery, Bayfield.”

®3083On 15 April 1910 Rosa [sic] Cadotte was a 14 year old Chippewa Indian girl who lived with her parents, Joseph and Margaret Cadotte, and 8 siblings in Bayfield, Wisconsin.
®3084 On 1 January 1920 Rose, 24, and married to Isac [sic] Belanger, 28, lived with their 2 children Donald J., 2 years and 6 months and Dorris [sic] G., 1 month old, in a house on Fourth Street in Bayfield, Wisconsin. Also living there were the head of the house, Rose’s sister Delia Belanger, a 28 year old widow, and her sons Francis J. 9, William A, 8, and Frederick L., 6.

“Mrs. Rose Cadotte Belanger, 84, Bayfield, died on July 2 at Memorial Medical Center, Ashland. Funeral services are this noon, Saturday, at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Bayfield, with Father David Oberts officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Bayfield. Visitation was Friday evening at the Overholzer Funeral Home, Bayfield. Mrs. Belanger was born September 21, 1895 at La Pointe. She is survived by two sons, Donald, Washington, D.C., and Kenneth, Milpitas, California; two daughters, Mrs. Doris Nelson, Washburn and Mrs. E. Davidson, Baudette, Minnesota. There are twenty grandchildren and 25 grandchildren [sic], two brothers, Francis Cadotte, Bayfield, and Donald Cadotte, Bayfield, and three sisters, Elizabeth Gordon, Bayfield, Dorothy Deragon, Bayfield, and Alice Pickert, Bayfield. Mrs. Belanger was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Belanger, whom she married at La Pointe October 15, 1915, and by five brothers and three sisters.” ®3087
